Tjen Dominates In Opening Round of NCAAs

ORLANDO, Fla. – Janice Tjen rolled to an opening round victory at the NCAA Singles Championships, beating No. 45 Indianna Spink of Arkansas, 6-2, 6-2 on Sunday morning.
Tjen moved to 19-2 on the year in singles play and has now won each of her last seven singles matches, six of which have come against ranked opponents. She improved to 7-2 on the year in matches against ranked foes, and has still lost just seven sets all season.
Following the win over the SEC Freshman of the Year in Spink, Tjen will take on Georgia's Kataina Jokic at 8 a.m. PT on Monday.
