Back in Eugene to Host Nebraska

EUGENE, Ore. – More than a week removed from its last match, the Oregon men's tennis team returns to the courts Sunday to host Nebraska. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m. (PT) at the UO Student Tennis Center. The Ducks carry a four-match winning streak into the match and are 7-2 overall this season.

Last Time Out
The Ducks rallied for a 4-3 win at Louisville (Feb. 7) in their last outing. Oregon lost the doubles point and dropped the first set in four of six singles matches before mounting a comeback. Joshua Charlton and Luke Vandecasteele were the first two Ducks off the court with a pair of straight-set wins at No. 1 and 5 singles, respectively. Following a win by Emmanuel Coste to tie the match at 3-all, Riki Oshima clinched the team victory with a 2-6, 7-6, 6-2 triumph on court four.

Sophomore Joshua Charlton, the No. 29 player in the nation, is 17-5 this season with a 7-1 record in dual play. His win over No. 66 Tin Chen of Louisville was his fifth victory against a ranked opponent this year. Charlton and senior Ty Gentry are the No. 9-ranked doubles team in the country. The UO pair are 13-3 overall this season and are 6-1 during the dual season.
Double Digits
With his straight-set victory at Louisville (Feb. 7), freshman Luke Vandecasteele became the fourth Duck with at least 10 wins this season. That list currently features Joshua Charlton (17-5), Jesper Klöv-Nilsson (12-6), Brandon Lam (12-2) and Vandecasteele (10-8).
About Nebraska
The Cornhuskers are 1-5 this season with the team's lone win coming in a 7-0 triumph over UMKC (Feb. 2). In singles play, Nebraska is paced by Victor Moreno Lozano and Shunya Maruyama with 10 victories each. Maruyama has played at No. 1 singles in the past three matches. Albert Sprlak-Puk has played at No. 1 doubles with various partners.

With wins against Santa Clara (Feb. 1) and Drake (Feb. 2), senior Ty Gentry pushed his career total to 68 doubles victories. That figure moves him into a tie for seventh place with Jayson Amos (2013-17) on the UO career list. Gentry is 68-29 (.701) in doubles play during his UO career.
