Home Stand Continues with Boise State

EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon men's tennis team is back at the Student Tennis Center this weekend with two home matches beginning Friday against Boise State. First serve of the matchup is Friday at 3 p.m. (PT). The Ducks are 6-1 this season including a 5-0 mark in home matches.
Home-Court Advantage
Oregon is in the midst of a six-match home stand which began last weekend with three wins at the Student Tennis Center.
Feb. 1: def. San Diego – 4-3
Feb. 2: def. Nevada – 4-0
Feb. 3: def. New Mexico – 7-0
Feb. 8 vs Boise State – 3 p.m.
Feb. 9 vs Louisville – 2 p.m.
Feb. 17 vs Loyola Marymount – 11 a.m.
Moving On Up
In the Feb. 6 release of the ITA player rankings, senior Thomas Laurent is up to a career-high No. 3 in the country, up two spots from the previous release. He is one of two Ducks in the singles poll, along with sophomore Emmanuel Coste at No. 80, up 19 spots from his prior ranking. In doubles play, Oregon has three ranked teams headlined by the No. 42 duo of Charles Roberts and Armando Soemarno. As a team, the Ducks sit just outside the top 25 and are receiving votes in the most recent team poll.
Hot Streak
Junior Ty Gentry carries a seven-match winning streak into this weekend's matches. He is 4-0 at the No. 3 spot in dual play and is 10-3 overall this season. Freshman Joshua Charlton has won six in a row and eight of his last 10 matches in singles play.
Pac-12 Recognizes Laurent
After a 3-0 weekend including two wins over ranked opponents, senior Thomas Laurent was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week. The selection was the third of his career, and ninth overall for the program. Entering the weekend, Laurent is two wins shy of becoming the third player in UO history to reach 90 in a career.
