Hull Races to Win at Wisconsin Pre-Nationals

EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Jessica Hull pulled away from the field to win the Cardinal race and pace the Women of Oregon to a runner-up finish Saturday morning at the Pre-Nationals meet in Madison, Wis. On the men's side, the Ducks crossed in fourth place behind top-25 individual finishes from James West and Charlie Hunter.
In her second race of the season, Hull posted a winning time of 20:03.2 at the Zimmer Championship Course. The reigning NCAA 1,500-meter champion cleared the field by more than six second in the win. The first four Ducks across the finish line all placed within the top 20 including Hull, Weronika Pyzik (12th), Phily Bowden (17th) and Carmela Cardama Baez (19th). Oregon's scoring was capped by Isabelle Brauer who finished in 22th overall.

The Men of Oregon out-ran two teams ranked ahead of them—Colorado State and host Wisconsin—on their way to a top-four finish in Madison. For a second time this season, West was the first Duck across the line with time of 24:14.7 which was good for 17th place. He was joined in top 25 by teammate Charlie Hunter. The trio of Cooper Teare, Blake Haney and Jackson Mestler all crossed within one second of each other to help secure fourth place in the team race.
