
Laurent Earns Round Of 16 Berth At ITA Fall Nationals

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – Junior Thomas Laurent of the Oregon men's tennis team booked his ticket to tomorrow's round of 16 at the ITA Fall National Championships Thursday.
How It Happened: Laurent cruised to the round of 16 after facing off against No. 22 Harrison Scott of Texas.
The French international made quick work of his Longhorn opponent dropping only two games on his way to a 6-2, 6-0 victory. This marks the second time this fall season Laurent has faced and beaten a ranked opponent from Texas after opening the year with a 6-4, 6-4 win over No. 26 Yuya Ito.
In consolation play, Laurent and Cormac Clissold squared off against Georgia Gwinnett's Gilad Berman and Kevin Konfederak. The duo pulled out a straight-set victory over the Grizzly pair 6-4, 6-2.
Up Next: Laurent will continue his tournament run Friday morning against Virginia's Aswin Lizen.
