Ducks? Throwers Start Season

LOS ANGELES – Oregon throwers started the 2015 outdoor season at the Trojan Invitational, Friday, with four student-athletes in action.
Jillian Weir finished second in the women's hammer throw, with a toss of 196-4 (59.85m). She led the Ducks trio with Madeline Middlebrooks finishing eighth with a personal best of 162-3 (49.46m). Shot put All-American Brittany Mann also threw 129-3 (39.39m).
Ryan Hunter-Simms was the lone male participant for the Ducks, taking third in the discus with a toss of 171-10 (52.37m).
The Ducks will return to competition tomorrow, with national champion Sam Crouser competing in the javelin alongside freshman Jhet Janis. On the track, Ariana Washington will compete in the 100 in her hometown, while Tony James will compete in the 100 for the men.
