
Ducks Pounce On Pilots, 72-49

Portland, Ore. - The Oregon women's basketball team took care of in-state rival Portland, 72-49, on Friday night at the Chiles Center behind a 46.7 shooting percentage.
The Ducks had three players in double figures while Jillian Alleyne recorded her 47th career double-double.
How It Happened: Oregon got out on top of the Portland Pilots with a 10-2 run before Jordan Loera hit her first of four three-pointers to put the Ducks ahead 18-6 with 10:18 left in the first half.
Amanda Delgado knocked down her third three-pointer of the first half to push the UO lead to 33-19, before heading into the locker with a 35-23 advantage.
The Ducks finished the game on a 25-10 run in the final 11:53 minutes and defeated the Pilots thanks to a whopping 31-5 edge in bench points. The Ducks also capitalized on the Pilots' 14 turnovers, converting them for 21 points compared to UP's 10 points off turnovers.
Lock Down Defense: The Ducks held Portland to just 49 points on Friday night. It was Oregon's best defensive effort since defeating Cal on the road, 60-46, on Feb. 24, 2011.
By the Numbers: Loera finished with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 4-of-6 from behind the arc, one shy of tying her career-high for threes in a game.
Petersen also had a great night from the floor, knocking down 6-of-10 shots to go with four rebounds and five assists. As a team, UO finished the night shooting 11-of-24 from downtown compared to the home team's 21 percent (4-of-19).
