Postgame Quotes
February 24, 2011 - Matthew Knight Arena
----------------------------------------
Oregon Head Coach Dana Altman
On loss:
“It was just a real disappointing performance in the second half. Turnovers turned into easy baskets and
got their offense going.”
“They got more shots than we did and it's not what I had hoped for. I'm disappointed and I know the
guys are too. We need a big bounce back tomorrow and there is not much time to do it.”
On energy:
“We were missing shots, and we gave up momentum type baskets to start the second half. We missed
easy lay ups, tip ins, and that changed the game.”
On second half:
“Our knees were not bent on simple plays, and that was not a good offensive half. The zone got us in
the second half. You can't let a team out rebound you.”
On looking forward to Stanford on Saturday:
“We need to bounce back and play, and there is not much time to do it. There is a fine line we have
walked all year. Cal took it from us and got on the other side of that line. We need to play a better forty
minutes. The second half they controlled.”
“We have a big game Saturday and a lot of work to do.”
----------------------------------------
Senior Forward Joevan Catron
On the game:
“Our execution wasn't up to par in the second half. They (California) were getting their hands on the balls and we made bad turnovers and they were making baskets.”
On what's next:
“We have to get a win on Saturday, we don't ever want to lose at home, but we just have to get a split and beat Stanford. We need to have a good sharp practice tomorrow; we need to rest tonight and then our preparation for Saturday starts tomorrow.”
On the happened in the second half:
“Our energy went down and it killed us tonight. We turned the ball over and they were getting easy lay ups.”
On Saturday being his last home game:
“It's going to be very emotional, I love this place. It's been a significant part of my life; I'm just going to have to keep my emotions under control. Matthew Knight Arena is a great place to play.”
On the Saturday's White Out:
“I got the idea from seeing Arizona. The all white looked real good, and it showed the program support.”
----------------------------------------
Junior Forward Tyrone Nared
On the game:
“We were rushing on offense in the second half. We got too comfortable today, we shot really well against Oregon State and that didn't happen today.”
On his performance:
“It doesn't matter how I shot, because the team still lost.”
On what Coach (Dana Altman) said after the game:
“He said everyone gave up and that we only really played for four minutes out of 20 minutes in the second half.”
On what's next:
“We need to come out stronger on Saturday and finish in the top five in the Pac-10.”
