Ducks Victory Over Wildcats Keeps Winning Streak Alive

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon
extended its winning streak to three games with a 92-74 victory over the
Arizona Wildcats on Thursday night at Mac Court.
The Ducks improve their record to 15-8 overall and 6-5 in the Pac-10,
tying for fifth in the league standings with California.
Arizona falls to 11-11 overall and 5-7 in the Pac-10.
The Ducks had six players in double figures led by sophomore guard Nia Jackson's 18 points, six rebounds, four assists and game-high five
steals.
Senior guard Taylor Lilley was one assist shy of a double-double with 15
points and a career-high nine dishes. The Newhall, Calif., native also
completed her quest to own a trio of Oregon three-point records. Already
the possessor of the career and single-game three-point records, Lilley
knocked down three baskets from long distance on Thursday night to
claim the single-season record.
Lilley, who now has 83 treys this season, broke the record of former
Duck Jamie Craighead, who knocked down 81 three-pointers in 2001.
Oregon drained seven three-pointers in the game, with Victoria claiming
three of those buckets on her way to a 13-point effort.
The Ducks now have 196 three-pointers made in 2010, breaking the old
single-season record of 194 set in the 2001-02 campaign.
After scoring 38 points at Arizona on Jan. 16, junior forward Nicole Canepa scored 15 points and added two blocks, while sophomore Amanda Johnson worked for her eighth double-double of the season. The Santa,
Rosa, Calif., native scored 13 points and added a game-high 14 rebounds.
Fellow sophomore Jasmin Holliday came off the bench to score 11 points
and bring down nine rebounds.
Soana Lucet led Arizona with a game-high 23 points, while freshman
Davellyn White added 12 points and a game-high six assists.
Ify Ibekwe played 21 minutes for the Wildcats battling foul trouble and
was limited to nine points despite pulling down 12 rebounds.
Oregon's lead reached double digits, 58-47, after a Canepa bucket with
14:19 remaining. An 11-4 Oregon run had the Ducks leading 69-51 with
11:33 to play after Johnson knocked down a three-pointer and converted
two free throws on two consecutive Oregon possessions.
With seven regular season games remaining, Oregon's 15 wins are the most
for the program since the 2006-07 season (17), and the Ducks six
conference victories are their most since 2007-08's 7-11 finish.
A sloppy first half led to both teams committing a combined 21
turnovers, but that didn't prevent a high-scoring first half.
Oregon and Arizona have now split their Pac-10 series for the third
consecutive season as the Wildcats defeated the Ducks 119-112 back on
Jan. 16 in Tucson.
Lucet led all players at the break with 14, while Jackson and Kenyon led
the Ducks with 11 apiece.
Kenyon drained all of her three 3-pointers in the first half.
Oregon jumped out to an early 8-4 lead, but Arizona answered with an 8-0
run to take a 12-8 advantage.
The first half saw seven tie scores and 10 lead changes until the Ducks
switched to a zone defense with just under four minutes to play.
With the game tied at 36-36, Holliday and Kenyon each scored to put the
Ducks ahead by five. Lilley then capitalized during Oregon's 8-2 run,
ending the first by knocking down a basket from long distance on the
wing.
NOTES
Lilley's first 3-pointer of the game tied Craighead's record and broke
the 1,200-point mark for her career…Lilley broke the record with the
82nd 3-pointer of this season at the 1:21 mark of the first half…she now
has 83 on the season and is 10 3-pointers away from breaking the Pac-10
single season record of Arizona's Lisa Griffith (92; 1997)…Lilley's
1,214 career points rank 12th in Oregon program history…Lilley's
career-high nine assists are also a single-season high for the Ducks
this season.

For the fourth consecutive season, the Oregon women's basketball team is
proud to partner with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association for
its Pink Zone initiative, to be held Saturday, Feb. 13 vs. Arizona
State.
Duck fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game for a Mac Court “Pink
Out.” Oregon is partnering with the Willamette Valley Cancer Research
Center, which will be on-site to collect donations on gameday.
A raffle will also be held with various signed products (T-Shirts, game
balls, etc.) from the Oregon women's basketball team up for grabs.
Proceeds from the raffle will also be donated toward the cause.

Becky L. Sisley Award Presentation
Former Oregon women's tennis player Sarah Grall will become the 13th
former UO women's athlete to receive the Becky L. Sisley Award. Grall
arrived at the University of Oregon in 1982 and was a four-year member
of the Oregon women's tennis team while studying in the College of Human
Development.
Coached by Nancy Osborne, and later Sue Jacobson, Grall was a
walk-on with the Ducks but eventually held the #1 spot in singles and

Alumni Weekend
Saturday will also serve as Alumni Weekend for the Oregon women's
basketball program. Former members of the UO women's basketball program
are invited back to Eugene to enjoy a weekend of activities and one of
the final Pac-10 games to be played at Mac Court.
FORMER DUCK GREATS RETURN TO MAC COURT
ARIZONA STATE – Feb. 13, 2010
One of the most prolific players in Oregon history will return to Eugene
to serve as the honorary captain for the UO-Arizona State game as
Stefanie Kasperski will make her return to Mac Court. A member of the
Oregon Athletic Hall of Fame, Kasperski remains one of the most prolific
players in Oregon women's basketball history, ranking third all-time in
both scoring (1,956 points) and rebounding (996). During her four-year
career with the Ducks, Kasperski was a three-time Pac-10 First Team
selection and a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American. Kasperski helped
lead the Ducks to the second round of the NCAA Tournament as a freshman
in 1987, and went on to lead the Ducks to a National Women's
Invitational Tournament championship in 1989 after averaging 20.3 points
and 9.5 rebounds per game as a junior.
