EUGENE, Ore. -- The University of Oregon men's basketball team will open its 2010-11 regular-season schedule hosting the BTI Invitational Nov. 12-14 at McArthur Court in Eugene. Joining the Ducks in the four-team tournament is North Dakota State, Denver and UC Santa Barbara. Home teams listed in bold. Tickets are on sale for $14 reserved seating and $12 general admission.
Friday: UC Santa Barbara vs. Denver, 4:30 pm | Oregon vs. North Dakota St., 7 pm
Saturday: North Dakota St. vs. UC Santa Barbara, 6 pm | Oregon vs. Denver, 8:30 pm
Sunday: Denver vs. North Dakota St., 3:30 pm | Oregon vs. UC Santa Barbara, 6 pm
UO men's basketball radio broadcasts for Eugene/Springfield listeners can be found all season on KUGN 590 AM, and fans in the Portland metro area can find the action on 95.5 FM The Game. However, this weekend the Duck basketball games will be found on different stations.
The Eugene/Springfield area must tune in to KUJZ 95.3 FM The Score for the Oregon-Denver night cap on Saturday. KUGN 590 AM will have the Friday and Sunday games. Fans in the Portland metro area can catch the games this Friday and Saturday on KXL 750 AM, but will be back on 95.5 FM on Sunday. Also, KGAL 1580 AM Corvallis/Salem is unable to carry the games this Friday or Saturday.

ALTMAN ERA BEGINS AT OREGON
First-year coach Dana Altman takes the reigns of UO men's basketball team this season, becoming the 19th head coach in the history of the program. Altman arrived at Oregon after spending 16 seasons at Creighton where he became the school's all-time winningest coach with a record of 327-176 (.650). He is 410-243 (.628) in 21 seasons at the NCAA Division I level.
Altman led Creighton to 13 consecutive postseason appearances, a stretch of 11 straight seasons with 20-plus wins, all while producing 10 or more league victories in each of the last 14 seasons. Those three feats have gone unmatched in the 103 years of the Missouri Valley Conference.
He has won four Coach-of-the-Year awards from three different conferences spanning 13 seasons, including back-to-back MVC coaching honors while he was at the Omaha, Neb., educational institution in 2001 and 2002.
Altman was a finalist for the Naismith National Coach of the Year Award and was named the NABC District 12 and USBWA District VI Coach of the Year following the 2002-03 campaign. Creighton participated in seven NCAA Men's Basketball Tournaments and five NITs under Altman.
UO ATHLETICS UNVEILS MATTHEW KNIGHT ARENA FLOOR
Oregon unveiled another key element for Matt Arena designed to set the facility apart from any other arena in the country. Installation of a unique arena floor is currently underway and features symbolic references to the Pacific Northwest, as well as the two individuals most responsible for the arena becoming a reality, Phil Knight and Pat Kilkenny. DUCKS ADD FOUR PREP PLAYERS IN EARLY SIGNING PERIOD
Dana Altman announced the signing of four players to National Letters of Intent. Joining the Ducks' 2011-12 squad are guards Bruce Barron (Carbondale, Ill./Brehm Preparatory School), Jabari Brown (Oakland, Calif./Oakland HS) and Brett Kingma (Mill Creek, Wash./Jackson HS) along with center Austin Kuemper (Portland, Ore./Westview HS).
Bruce Barron: Plays prep basketball at Brehm Preparatory School in Carbondale, Ill. … led AAU basketball team (Illinois Titans) to a national title in 2009, averaging 18 points per game in the senior national tournament … chose Oregon over Oklahoma State, Marquette and Indiana … also played AAU basketball for the Mac Irvin Fire.
Jabari Brown: Started junior season at Findlay Prep (Nev.) where he averaged 16 points per game before transferring mid-year to Oakland High School … averaged 23.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game at Oakland High the rest of his junior campaign ... led Oakland High to second round of the state playoffs … chose Oregon over Arizona State, Connecticut, Georgia Tech and Washington … played AAU ball for the Drew Gooden Soldiers.
Brett Kigma: Averaged 25 points, four steals and four assists per game as a junior … Led Jackson High School to the 2010 Washington Class 4A title game … chose Oregon over Arizona State, Brigham Young and Washington … played AAU ball for the Friends of Hoop.
Austin Kuemper: Averaged 12.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game as a junior for Westview High School … Lead WHS to the 2010 OSAA 6A Boys state title game … also led WHS to a second-round appearance at the 2009 OSAA 6A Boys State Tournament … chose Oregon over Iowa State, San Diego State, USC and Washington State … played AAU ball for ICP.
CATRON, STROWBRIDGE CLEARED TO PLAY
Senior forward Joevan Catron was granted a medical hardship waiver from the Pac-10 for the 2010-11 season it was announced on June 8. Catron played in the first four games in 2009-10 before sitting the remainder of the season with an ailing back.
Senior guard Jay-R Strowbridge is eligible to compete this season and utilize his fourth and final year of competition according to an NCAA decision made Oct. 14. The 5-11, 185-pound guard from Huntsville, Ala., is a senior this season. On Sept. 15, a waiver was filed by UO seeking relief from the transfer's one-year residency requirements, a matter the NCAA reviews on a case-by-case basis for graduate students with eligibility remaining.
2010-11 ROSTER FEATURES NINE UPPERCLASSMEN
Oregon returns eight players off a 2009-10 team which finished 16-16 overall and 7-11 in Pac-10 Conference play. Three of those returners are starters and five are letterwinners.
Junior guard Malcolm Armstead (27 starts), junior forward Jeremy Jacob (15 starts) and sophomore forward E.J. Singler (22 starts) return significant starting experience from the 2009-10 team. UO also returns senior forward Joevan Catron and junior guards Garrett Sim and Teondre Williams who have starting experience from last season.
The Ducks added six players in the offseason, welcoming two transfers (Jay-R Strowbridge and Tyrone Nared), sophomore walk-on Matt Losli and three incoming freshmen (Johnathan Loyd, Nicholas Lucenti and Martin Seiferth).
MAC COURT TO MATT ARENA MOVE
The Oregon men's basketball team will make the move from McArthur Court to Matthew Knight Arena this season. The new building can be listed by either its full name, or abbreviated to Matt Arena (like Mac Court is to McArthur Court). Key dates listed below.

NEW WEBSITE AVAILABLE FOR MATTHEW KNIGHT ARENA
MatthewKnightArena.com is the new website that has been launched by UO Athletics which will serve as the primary source of information for upcoming athletics events, concerts, tickets and other information pertaining the school's sparkling new 12,500 seat venue, which is scheduled to host its first events in January 2011.
The arena is scheduled to make its grand opening on Thursday, Jan. 13, when the Oregon men's basketball team faces USC, with tipoff for that contest scheduled for 8 p.m. (PST). The Ducks' women's basketball team is slated to debut in their new home on Sunday, Jan. 23, when they host Civil War rival Oregon State at noon.
Highlighting the website will be the announcements of major events coming to Matt Arena, an events calendar, ticket sales information and links that will enable the purchase of tickets to all sporting events and shows. In the coming weeks there will be many exciting announcements posted to the website detailing the remarkable events and entertainment the building is bringing to Eugene.
The website will be adding new information as the building is closer to completion, including parking information, seating charts, arena news and more.
