Sun Devils Burn Ducks, Win 6-1

Oregon fell in its second straight conference match against an opponent ranked in the top-30, as Arizona State blasted Oregon, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at the Student Tennis Center.
“We played a good match, the girls played hard and played to win,” head coach Nils Schyllander said. “This was a much better match than yesterday.”
The loss drops Oregon to 10-4 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.
The Ducks lost the doubles point for the second straight day as Arizona State took two matches from the Ducks in doubles play.
Anna Leksinska and Claudia Hirt struggled to get into a rhythm and fell, 8-0, to Sabrina Capannolo and Jessica Leitch. Dominika Dieskova and Ceci Olivos also struggled, losing to Kady Pooler and Roxanne Clarke, 8-3.
In singles play Dominika Dieskova was the only Duck to record a win as she put away Capannolo, 6-4, 6-4.
The Ducks return to action when they face Utah, Friday, beginning at noon.
