John Sargeant

John Sargeant joined the athletic department in November 2011 and currently serves as the director of food and beverage services. Prior to that, he served as the general manager of Food Services for Matthew Knight Arena, where he opened the food services at a full service arena. Sargeant managed all concessions for Matthew Knight Arena, Hayward Field, and Howe Field for athletic events and special events, while effectively supervising a staff of up to 150 volunteers.

Prior to his work at Matthew Knight Arena, Sargeant worked as the general manager of food services for the athletic department, and also served as the University of Oregon Housing Catering Manager.

Before serving the University of Oregon, Sargeant served as the kitchen supervisor at the Lane County Corrections Center. Planning and supervising the production of meals, Sargeant served up to 450 inmates and staff, while maintaining low food costs.

John Sargeant graduated from the Western Culinary Institute in 1988. Following graduation, Sargeant worked in the kitchen in three different restaurants around Eugene before ultimately working for the University of Oregon.
