
Oregon Men’s Basketball Retools Via Transfer Portal

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon men's basketball has added a plethora of talent, as Dana Altman's team prepares for the 2026-27 season.
The team will feature a number of Division I transfers, as well as two top freshman prospects. Dwayne Aristode (Arizona), Taylor Bol Bowen (Alabama), Pharaoh Compton (San Diego State), Jerry Easter II (USC), Jasper Johnson (Kentucky), Andrew Meadow (Boise State), Fred Payne (Boston College) and Tyrone Riley IV (San Francisco) all join the program via the transfer portal. Five-star prospect Tajh Ariza and three-star recruit Seven Spurlock will join the team as true freshmen.
These additions will join returners Sean Stewart, Luke Johnson and Rian Gonzales. Stewart played in all 32 games for Oregon last season and started the final 17 games in a row. He averaged a career-high 6.5 points (.509 FG%), 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
Aristode played his freshman season at Arizona and averaged 3.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game. The six-foot-eight forward shot 46.2 percent from three-point range and tied the Arizona freshman single-game record with six made three-pointers against Northern Arizona. The Lelystad, Netherlands native was a four-star recruit at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire and a top 30 prospect. Aristode has represented the Netherlands in international competition and played three seasons in Spain before moving to the United State for high school.
Bol Bowen spent last season at Alabama and his first two collegiate seasons with Florida State. He played in 30 games (11 starts) in 2025-26, averaging 6.3 points (.412 FG%, .302 3P%, .796 FT%), 4.2 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 19.0 minutes. Bol Bowen started 28 of 29 games played in 2024-25 at Florida State and averaged 8.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. The six-foot-10 forward also attended Brewster Academy and was a four-star recruit.
A six-foot-seven forward, Compton played all 33 games (one start) for San Diego State last season, averaging 7.5 points (.721 FG%, .625 FT%) and 2.8 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game as a sophomore. He was twice named Freshman of the Week in 2024-25 and tallied 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. A native of Chicago, Compton attended Arbor View High School in Las Vegas, was a three-start prospect and the top rated recruit from Nevada in 2024.
Easter appeared in 29 games (seven starts) and averaged 4.4 points (.436 FG%, .235 3P%, .744 FT%), 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 17.4 minutes for USC last season. He reached double-figures four times, including scoring 11 points against the Ducks. The six-foot-five guard attended Link Academy in Branson, Missouri and led the team to an EYBL Scholastic League Conference title and was named to the All-Tournament Team. The Toledo, Ohio native spent his first two high school seasons at Toledo Emmanuel Christian, where he averaged 32.3 points and 7.3 rebounds, and was named First Team All-State in 2023.
Johnson was a five-star prospect in 2025 and played his freshman season at Kentucky. The six-foot-five guard played in 35 games, averaging 4.9 points (.400 FG%, .341 3P%, .880 FT%), 1.6 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 12.0 minutes per game. A native of Lexington, Johnson played his final high school season at Overtime Elite averaging 20.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game for Real Wild Energy. He won gold at the 2025 U19 Men's World Cup with Team USA, after winning gold at the U18 AmeriCup the previous year.
A six-foot-seven forward from Boise State, Meadow played in 102 career games for the Broncos over three seasons. Last season, he started all 32 games played and averaged 12.1 points (.510 FG%, .386 3P%, .655 FT%), 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 29.9 minutes. Meadow scored in double figures 19 times, including four 20-point outings. In 2024-25, Meadow appeared in a Mountain West-leading 37 games (35 starts), averaging 12.6 points (.458 FG%, .352 3P%, .839 FT%) and 4.2 rebounds in 29.2 minutes. He helped the Broncos reach the finals of the Mountain West Conference tournament and the semifinals of the inaugural College Basketball Crown tournament.
Payne averaged a team-leading 15.8 points (.399 FG%, .315 3P%, .772 FT%), 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 34.7 minutes for Boston College last season. He started 30 of 31 games and scored in double figures 27 times with nine 20-point games. The left-handed guard notched 24 points, nine rebounds, a career-best five steals and four assists in a win over Notre Dame and also scored 24 points versus NC State. He averaged close to 7.0 points as a sophomore and missed most of his freshman season due to injury. The four-star recruit from Grambling, Louisiana finished his prep career at Legacy the School of Sport Sciences in Houston.
Riley was an All-WCC second team honoree for San Francisco last season, averaging 12.2 points (.472 FG%, .368 3P%, .707 FT%), 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals in 31.8 minutes per game. He started all 31 games and scored in double digits a team-leading 20 times with three 20-point games. The six-foot-six guard scored his season high of 23 points with four assists, three rebounds and three steals in the conference tournament against Oregon State. In 2024-25, Riley was named to the WCC All-Freshman team after starting all 34 games and totaling 9.6 points (.502 FG%, .322 3P%, .735 FT%), 6.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 assists in 28.2 minutes. The Watts, California native attended St. Pius X-St. Matthias in Downey, Calif, where he was the NO. 16 ranked prospect in the state.

He attended Dynamic Prep and most recently played for Overtime Elite, where he averaged 18.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.4 steals in the OTE Playoffs. Spurlock also participated in the 2025 FIBA Next Gen Hoops Invitational.
