Oregon lost to No. 13 LSU Thursday morning in Huntington Beach, Calif.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – The Oregon beach volleyball team lost to 13th-ranked LSU Thursday at the MPSF Championship on Spiker Beach in Huntington Beach, Calif. With the loss, the Ducks season ends at 17-18 overall.
Â
LSU (22-15) won the opening set on four of five courts except for No. 3 pairs where Daley McClellan and Elsa Snipes jumped out to a 1-0 lead against Molly LaBreche and Aubrey O'Gorman, 21-19. However, the Tigers jumped out to the early 2-0 match advantage with wins on courts two and one, respectively.
Â
The Tigers got their third point with a 21-17, 21-18 win at No. 4 pairs over the Oregon sophomore duo of Hanna Bjornson and Sofia Taylor. With the win, LSU advanced to play Grand Canyon.
Â
When the match was clinched, McClellan and Snipes were up a set but trailed 16-12 in the second, while Landree Coats and Natasha George had just won the second set on court five to force a would-be third.

Â
In its first year under head coach Kristian Kuld, Oregon set a program record for single-season wins (17), had two wins over ranked teams—No. 19 Georgia State and No. 15 FAU—and saw five pairs finish with double-digit wins.
