Ducks Drop Two at Mid-Season Rumble

Facing another pair of top-five ranked opponents—Texas and UCLA—on day two.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Oregon beach volleyball team dropped a pair of 5-0 results to No. 1 Stanford and third-ranked USC on day one of the MPSF Mid-Season Rumble in Los Angeles.
Match 10: #1 Stanford 5, Oregon 0
The top-ranked Cardinal swept their way through the first wave of matches, taking a 2-0 lead. At No. 2s, the UO pair of Daley McClellan and Elsa Snipes had their four-match winning streak end in a tight 21-17, 21-16 setback to Avery Jackson and Brooke Rockwell. Stanford got the team victory with a win on court three.
In the final match in play, Bella Gamache and Liz Rossi got to within one—down 15-14 in the second—at No. 1 pairs but Stanford's Kelly Belardi and Ruby Sorra won six of the last nine to secure the last point.

In the closest result of the day, Gwen Fife and AJ Slojkowski forced a third set at No. 3 pairs against the USC duo of Alana Embry and Quincy Stephens. Fife and Slojkowski dropped the opening set but rallied for an extended second-set win—24-22—before Embry and Stephens clinched the final tally of the dual.
