George, Rossi Win Twice at No. 5 Pairs

Oregon lost Saturday duals to UC Davis and weekend host Utah.
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Oregon beach volleyball team closed out the Utah Beach Classic with losses to UC Davis (L, 2-3) and weekend host Utah (L, 1-4) on Saturday. At the No. 5 spot in the lineup, Natasha George and Liz Rossi won twice and finished the weekend with three wins.
Hanna Bjornson picked up the first win of her career, pairing with Skylar Kelly for a 21-16, 21-14 triumph at the No. 4 spot in the lineup. The result tied the dual at 1-all heading into the second wave of matches. UC Davis, however, secured the next two points including a three-set result at No. 1 pairs against the UO team of Bella Gamache and Ella Tyus to clinch the team win.
On court five, George and Rossi won their second match of the weekend for Oregon's second point. The two Ducks rallied from being down a set for the 19-21, 21-7, 18-16 result.

In the final match of the weekend, the host Utes raced out to a 2-0 lead after the first wave and went on to clinch the dual with a win at No. 3 pairs. George and Rossi accounted for Oregon's lone point, tallying a straight-set win over Milan Ray and Lauren Sayre. The pair now has a team-high six wins this season.
