
First 3-0 Start in Program History

Oregon swept weekend host Corban in the team’s weekend finale.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon beach volleyball team capped its season-opening weekend with a 5-0 win over Corban in Salem, Ore. With the victory, the Ducks are 3-0 for the first time in program history.
Landree Coats and AJ Slojkowski picked up the first point of the rain-soaked afternoon with a sweep at No. 2 pairs. It was their third win of the weekend. At the No. 4 spot in the lineup, Kamilah Checani and Isabel Patterson recovered from dropping the second set for a 21-15, 17-21, 15-11 win to push the UO advantage to 2-0 in the dual.
The Ducks' No. 1 duo of Bella Gamache and Ella Tyus fought through a tight first set and pulled away in the second for a 27-25, 21-11 result. The win clinched the dual in the Ducks' favor and doubled as Tyus' 35th career victory.
Oregon completed the road sweep with wins from Natasha George and Liz Rossi at No. 3s and Kendall Clark and Presley McCaskill at No. 5 pairs. George and Rossi were 3-0 during the weekend with wins at the No. 3, 4 and 5 spots. Clark and McCaskill, the final duo on court, won their second three-set match of the weekend.

Notable: Macy Furtwangler made her lineup debut in the exhibition spot alongside Dahlia McAllister … Corban came into the weekend as the No. 2 team in the NAIA ranks … UO is now 7-0 against Corban … Oregon won five of six to start 2022 including a 2-0 start for the previous best start in program history.
The Ducks next compete at the Cactus Classic (Feb. 28-March 1) in Tucson, Ariz., where they will face a loaded field of weekend host Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State and Stetson. All four are either ranked or receiving votes in the AVCA preseason poll. Stetson is the first of our first-time opponents for Oregon this season.
