Ducks Winless in Las Vegas
11/27/25 | Men's Basketball
LAS VEGAS — Oregon clawed back from a 17-point deficit but couldn't overcome Creighton's early surge, falling 76–66 on Thursday morning at Michelob ULTRA Arena.
Sean Stewart led Oregon (4-3) with a career-best 18 points on 8-for-12 shooting and added seven rebounds and a pair of blocks. Kwame Evans Jr. scored 12 points, grabbed eight boards and blocked four shots, anchoring a second-half charge in which the Ducks shot 52 percent from the floor. Dezdrick Lindsay also recorded a new career high with 14 points.
Oregon cut the Creighton lead quickly in the second half, starting on a 12-4 run and eventually closing to within five points. The Bluejays responded with solid offensive possessions that drained the clock and built their lead back to double digits. The Ducks were out of gas at that point and never got the spark back.
How it happened: The Ducks were outmatched in the first half as Creighton shot 47 percent from the field and turned Oregon's missed shots into 17 fast-break points before halftime. The Bluejays also scored 22 points in the paint in the half. Oregon trailed 44–29 at the break and spent the rest of the morning trying to chip away.
Lindsay scored eight of his 14 points in the second half, going a perfect 4 of 4 as Oregon used a 10–0 run early after the break to cut Creighton's lead to single digits. The Ducks dominated the paint after halftime, outscoring the Bluejays 28–16 inside and generating seven second-chance points behind Stewart and Ege Demir, who pulled down a career-best nine rebounds.
But each time Oregon threatened, Creighton found answers. Blake Harper scored 18 points and repeatedly broke loose in transition, while Owen Freeman added 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Bluejays (4–3) punished Oregon's turnovers, scoring 24 fast-break points overall and converting 19 of 21 free throws.
Oregon managed just 1 of 15 from three-point range and finished with 14 turnovers, several of them coming during key second half moments as the Ducks attempted to narrow the margin late. A Josh Dix corner three with 3:45 left pushed Creighton's advantage back to eight, and Nik Graves' step-back three with 1:49 remaining made it 74–62, sealing the outcome.
