Some truly historic individual accomplishments were recognized during Tuesday's annual awards show.
A school year that featured some truly historic individual performances by Oregon student-athletes was celebrated Tuesday evening at the athletic department's annual "O Show" awards night.
New collegiate record-holder Jaida Ross of women's track and field was named female athlete of the year, and Heisman Trophy finalist Bo Nix of football was named male athlete of the year. Ross has broken the collegiate record in the shot put three times this spring, while Nix was one of the top players in the nation last fall and won the William V. Campbell Trophy as college football's top scholar-athlete.

Rhodes Scholar finalist Colleen Uzoekwe received the Jackson Award as the top senior female student-athlete, while Rimington Trophy winner Jackson Powers-Johnson from football received the Emerald Award as top senior male student-athlete.
The women's cross country and track and field teams, who posted top-10 finishes in the NCAA Championships for both cross country and indoor track and field, and who recently won the Pac-12 Conference title outdoors, were named the team of the year. Team member Maddy Elmore was named comeback player of the year after setting a school record in the 5,000 meters.
Kiara Romero, recently honored as co-freshman of the year nationally in women's golf, received the athletic department's freshman of the year award. Mimi Colyer, who has led UO volleyball to consecutive Elite Eight appearances in the NCAA Tournament, received the Higdon Award as the top sophomore student-athlete.

N'Faly Dante from men's basketball received the Yamanaka Pride Award, and Morgan Sweeney from acrobatics and tumbling received the O Heroes Award. Cameron Stein from men's track and field and Julia Richards from soccer received the Jaqua Award for academic achievement— each has a grade-point average of at least 4.0.
Former lacrosse team member Annie Longtain, who now works in administration, received an award for support staff, and Erik Ford from the university's Lundquist College of Business received a faculty award.
