Ducks Lose Twice in Alki Bracket Play

Oregon grabbed a point in loses to No. 11 Washington and Boise State.

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Oregon beach volleyball team grabbed a point in each of its duals Saturday but lost to No. 11 Washington and Boise State in bracket play at the Alki Beach Invitational. Oregon closes out the regular season April 19 with a road match at Portland.

The Ducks began the day with a 4-1 loss to Washington, getting on the board with a win at No. 3 pairs from Jensen Kaelin and Ashley Schroeder. The senior duo notched a 21-11, 21-18 victory over Scarlett Dahl and Maia Nichols. With the result, Schroeder is up to 42 wins in her UO career.

At the top spot, Daley McClellan and Alina Valenti won the first set but the UW team of Zoey Henson and Lauren Wilcock rallied for a three-set win. McClellan and Valenti played four three setters in five matches during the weekend.

In the third-place matchup with Boise State, the new pairing of Natasha George and Skylar Kelly were victorious (29-27, 21-19) for a second time this weekend. The duo scored at the No. 5 spot over Sharli O'Neil and Elli Wolthuis.
