VANCOUVER, Wash. – Oregon got wins at the No. 3 through 5 spots to move back to .500 on the season with a 3-2 win over Portland Saturday at Frenchman's Bar Regional Park. It's the first time in program history that the Ducks have won two of their first four matches in a season.
How it Happened: Ally Haden and Savannah Siegrist continued their hot start to the season, picking up a 24-22, 21-18 win over Portland's Sarah Strong and Grace Zilbert at the No. 3 spot. The pair are now 4-0 on the year, keeping their perfect start going after a 3-0 opening weekend in San Jose.
At the No. 4 spot, Zoe Almanza and Anastasia Lima scored a dominant win, earning a 21-15, 21-6 sweep of Noelani Helm and McKenzie Schwan. The match came down to the No. 5 spot, where Elise Ferreira and Abby Hansen won in three sets, bouncing back from a first-set defeat to dominate the final two in a 19-21, 21-13, 15-9 win.
The Ducks dropped both matches at the No. 1 and 2 spots, with Jade Sadeiko and Bea Wetton falling in a 21-17, 26-28, 15-13 thriller to Shayla Hoeft and Alycia Wodke. Carly Wallace and Madelyn LaFollette lost their match, 21-16, 21-13 at the No. 2 spot.
