Tonight, the UO athletic department will stage the O Show awards in Matthew Knight Arena, hosted again by ESPN's Neil Everett. The event begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The second annual ceremony shines a spotlight on department awards that have long been bestowed internally, providing a more public stage on which to honor UO student-athletes who are truly exceptional on and off the field. Nominations were made by UO student-athletes, and winners were selected through a vote by student-athletes and athletic department staff.
The Jackson Athletic Trophy is awarded annually each spring to the outstanding graduating senior female athlete. The recipient is selected by her peers from each of the university women's intercollegiate sports based on outstanding athletic ability, scholastic achievement, leadership ability, and inspiration to other athletes. The recipient is awarded with a miniature scale version of the trophy.
And the nominees are …
