Ducks Top Jacksonville State 67-45 to go 4-0

EUGENE, Ore.—The University of Oregon men's basketball team came out on top against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, 67-45, Monday night in front of 5,163 fans at Matthew Knight Arena. The Ducks are now 4-0 to start a season for the first time since the 2007-08 season.
UO started off on a 7-0 run led by seniors Tony Woods and E.J. Singler and never looked back, leading JSU for the entirety of the game. This is the third game in a row that the Ducks haven't trailed all game.
Woods led Oregon in scoring with a career-high 17 points and was joined by Singler (11 points) and freshman Dominic Artis (10 points) as the three Ducks to score in double figures. Woods also notched career-highs in field goals made and attempted with 8 and 12, respectively. He was also a strong presence on the defensive end as he matched his career-high of five blocks.
Senior Arsalan Kazemi led the team in rebounding for the second consecutive game as he recorded eight, matching Ben Carter's season-high for the Ducks. Kazemi also equaled his career-high in steals as he recorded five.
Oregon shot 47.4% from the floor compared to Jacksonville State's 38.0% and held the advantage over their opponents in points in the paint (34-24), points off of turnovers (27-12), second chance points (18-8) and fast break points (10-2).
Highlights from tonight's game included a tomahawk dunk in the first half by senior Carlos Emory over a Gamecock defender as well as an alley-oop pass from Emory to Kazemi who finished the play with a dunk.
The Ducks return to action on Friday against Nevada-Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nev.
