Ernie Kent - Head Coach
On UO performance: “We have pushed our guys extremely hard. We were a little fatigued, but I am glad we got through the game, and we will get back to work again on the 26th.”
“Malcolm showed toughness and leadership. I am really proud of him. Malcolm carried us through the second half.”
On what to see coming back for Pac-10 games: “We will come back with a lot more energy. We will play sharper basketball, and get back to defending. I want our guys to get confidence and have consistency from game to game.”
--------------------------------------------
Malcolm Armstead - So. G
On Idaho State's shooting: “We kind of relaxed a little bit. They were hitting shots and that gave them confidence early.”
On this game being more of a struggle: “Yes it was. We were focused, but at times we were not here.”
On the difference of the game, win vs. loss: “It was toughness. A game comes down to crunch time.”
On good for UO to have such a close game: “Yes because it shows what type of players can handle a tough situation; who to play and who not to play.”
On what did you ask for for Christmas: “A win.”
-------------------------
E.J. Singler - Fr., F
On what it meant to win a close one: “It is a big win. Idaho State played a smart game. We finished well and we hit free throws, but we could have done a better job.”
On improvements: “We have to get more confidence switching and knowing where shooters are. Coach emphasized taking charge and making defensive stops.”
On more pressure with big brother here: “It was less pressure. It was fun playing in front of my family.”
On being ready for the Pac-10 games: “From watching film from the start of the season to now there is a big difference. We are not making the same mistakes. We are ready for the Pac-10.”
