His Oregon golfing career was nothing short of phenomenal. Earning his first of two All-America honors as a 1961 junior, he joined a handful of college stars, including Jack Nicklaus. Jerry had a second All-American season when he captained the Webfoot squad in 1962. His 72 average tied him for team lead with fellow Hall of Famer Tom Shaw. Cundari shot a sizzling 139 over two rounds to earn medalist honors at the ’62 Far West Championships.
Jerry captured over 70 golf titles in his amazing, career, beginning in 1956 as Oregon Junior champ. In Oregon he won the Junior-Senior Championship three times, the Senior Championship twice, the Best-Ball title twice, and the Tournament of Champions. He’s been the Portland City champ, the Oregon Coast Senior winner twice, won nine club victories and 50 smaller tournaments. He qualified four times for the U.S. Amateur and three times in USGA Senior events. Jerry also took part in worldwide play, including the International Amateur and British Senior Amateurs Tournaments.
