Hall of Fame
Musgrave, Bill
Bill Musgrave
- Induction:
- 2000
Seldom has one player been associated with the dawning of a new era in the way that Musgrave has after the four-year starter led the Ducks to back-to-back bowl appearances for the first time in school history. The three-year team captain and 1990 MVP became synonymous with some of the greatest Oregon quarterbacks of all time while becoming only the second player in the history of the Pacific-10 Conference to pass for 60 touchdowns and more than 8,000 yards in his collegiate career.
Displaying a remarkable poise and uncanny aura, the Ducks' career passing (8,343) and total offense (8,140) leader flaunted a 25-10 record in games he started and finished from 1987 through 1990 in addition to sporting a school-record 57.4 career completion percentage.
The 1990 first-team all-conference quarterback was named GTE Academic All-American of the Year in addition to being honored with a Scholar-Athlete Award by the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame.
